Satabdi was born in Agarpara to Shailen and Nilima Roy. Satabdi Roy passed her Madhyamik from Sorojini High School in 1986 and later attended Jogamaya Devi College, a women's college affiliated to the University of Calcutta.. Her constituency is located in Birbhum district.
Satabdi Roy is current MP from Birbhum [Birbhum]. She belongs to Trinamool Congress [ TC ].
