Subhash Sureshchandra Deshmukh is a senior Indian political leader and current Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Solapur South constituency, Solapur district, Maharashtra. Representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he has served since 2014 in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and is recognized for his work as Cabinet Minister for Co-operation, Relief and Rehabilitation. Deshmukh, popularly known as "Bapu," is the founder of Lokmangal Group and Solapur Social Foundation, focusing on development, farmer welfare, and social work. He has previously been a Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha, 2004–2009) and held key roles in state government, earning respect for his grassroots initiatives and commitment to Solapur's progress

Subhash Deshmukh was born on 12th March, 1957. Son of a school teacher, making ends meet was not easy for this middle class family. Bapu, was introduced into the hardships of life at an early age. This is the reason why he is so intune with the needs of the local community. As a child, growing up was not easy. He did a string of odd jobs- working as a clerk, working in grocery stores etc. This stands as quite a big contrast to where he is standing today. Representing the constituency of Solapur, Mr. Deshmukh is now a living testimony and beacon for others.
