Ashok Shankarrao Chavan has served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra
from 8 December 2008 to 9 November 2010.
Before becoming Chief Minister he served as Minister for Cultural Affairs, Industries, Mines and Protocol in the Vilasrao Deshmukh government.
Chavan is son of former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shankarrao Chavan and they are the first father–son duo in the state's history to become chief ministers.. His constituency is located in Nanded district.
