He represents the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Ajit Pawar faction. Patil has been elected MLA twice from Amalner, making significant contributions to local development and farmer welfare. He served as Relief and Rehabilitation Minister in the Eknath Shinde government (2023–2024) and was also the Guardian Minister of Nandurbar district.
