A seasoned leader, he previously served multiple terms from 1985–2004 and 2009–2019, and held the Cabinet post of Water Supply & Sanitation Minister in 2013–14. Known for championing development, farmer welfare, and improved water infrastructure, he’s also recognized for working closely with Sharad Pawar during his NCP days.
